Alocasia ‘Metalhead’ is a bold, dramatic aroid known for its nearly black, metallic-looking leaves with deep veining and a glossy finish. It has that moody, high-contrast vibe people love in statement plants — especially in modern or minimalist spaces.
Light
Bright, indirect light. It can tolerate medium light, but the darker leaves really shine with stronger indirect light. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the foliage.
Water
Keep the soil consistently lightly moist, but never soggy. Let the top 1–2 inches dry before watering again. Alocasias are sensitive to overwatering and can decline quickly if left in wet soil.
Pet Safety
Not pet safe. Like other Alocasias, it contains calcium oxalate crystals and is toxic if chewed by cats or dogs.
If you’re styling a moody corner at Blossom and Branch, this one would absolutely stop people in their tracks. It’s dramatic, architectural, and feels rare without being impossible to care for — as long as you don’t overwater it.
