Botanical Name: Hydnophytum papuanum
The Ant Plant is a fascinating tropical caudex plant known for its swollen bulb-like base filled with natural chambers that, in the wild, house symbiotic ants. Its unusual appearance, climbing stems, and glossy foliage make it a favorite among rare plant collectors and anyone drawn to strange and unique botanical specimens.
Light: Bright indirect light. Avoid prolonged harsh direct sun.
Water: Allow the soil to partially dry between waterings. Prefers light, even moisture but does not like to stay soggy.
Pet Safety: Considered non-toxic, but it’s best kept out of reach of curious pets due to its unusual structure and delicate growth.
