Leuchtenbergia principis (Agave Cactus)
Leuchtenbergia principis is one of the most unusual cacti in the world, known for its long, triangular tubercles that resemble the leaves of an agave. Native to the deserts of Mexico, this slow-growing cactus develops a sculptural appearance with long papery spines and can eventually produce large, fragrant yellow flowers. Its unique form makes it a standout addition to any cactus or succulent collection.
Light: Bright light to full sun.
Water: Allow the soil to dry completely between waterings. Reduce watering during the winter months.
Pet Friendly: Yes – considered non-toxic to cats and dogs, though the sharp spines can cause injury if handled.
