Mammillaria plumosa (Feather Cactus)
Mammillaria plumosa, commonly known as the Feather Cactus, is a stunning cactus covered in soft, feathery white spines that give it the appearance of a fluffy cloud. These delicate-looking spines help protect the plant from intense sun while creating an incredibly unique texture. As it matures, it forms clusters of rounded stems and may produce fragrant creamy white to pale yellow flowers in a ring around the top of each cactus.
Light: Bright light to full sun.
Water: Allow the soil to dry completely between waterings. Reduce watering during the winter months.
Pet Friendly: Yes – considered non-toxic to cats and dogs, though the plant’s spines can still cause minor irritation if handled.
