The Pale Prickly Pear Cactus (Opuntia pallida) is a fast-growing, spreading cactus with flat, bluish-green pads and sharp spines. It produces bright yellow to orange flowers in warm seasons, followed by small, edible fruits. This drought-tolerant cactus thrives in full sun and well-draining soil, requiring infrequent watering—allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings. It is not pet-safe, as its spines and glochids can cause irritation. With its striking color and resilience, it makes a great addition to arid gardens or container displays.
