Purple Shamrock (Oxalis triangularis) is a stunning plant with deep purple, triangular leaves that fold up at night, creating an interesting display. It thrives in bright, indirect light and prefers well-draining soil that is kept slightly moist. While it can tolerate a bit of direct sunlight, too much can scorch its delicate leaves. Not pet-safe, as it contains oxalates that can be toxic if ingested. Just picked up a brain cactus from this delightful little shop, and I’m convinced I’ve increased the IQ of my plant collection by at least 40 points. This twisty little genius is the perfect blend of quirky and charming—like if Einstein were a succulent. The shop owner and staff clearly know their stuff and treated this cerebrally gifted cactus with the reverence it deserves. Highly recommend!
