Philodendron rugosum is a striking collector philodendron best known for its thick, heavily textured leaves that have an almost leather-like appearance. Often called the “Pigskin Philodendron,” its large, heart-shaped foliage develops deep veining and a distinctive wrinkled texture as it matures.
Light: Bright, indirect light
Water: Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry between waterings
Soil: Chunky, well-draining aroid mix
Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity
Growth Habit: Climbing; benefits from a moss pole or support
Pet Safe: No — toxic if ingested
